Rodents

Rats, mice, and squirrels all frequently try to make our homes their own.

You've heard them scurrying about your attic in the middle of the night. You've seen what they've done to the food in your pantry. You've found numerous droppings and are concerned about what diseases they may be carrying and threatening your family with.

What can you do about them?

First, you must find out how they are entering your home. Check outside along the eaves and roof. See if there are any cracks in the wall where pipes are entering the building. If the crack is only as large as a quarter, a rat can get into it.

Before you patch the house up, call PESTEX so we can flush the pests out. We've been doing it a long time, and we know all the tricks.

Rodentia is an order of mammals also known as rodents, characterised by two continuously-growing incisors in the upper and lower jaws which must be kept short by gnawing.[1][2]

Forty-percent of mammal species are rodents, and they are found in vast numbers on all continents other than Antarctica. Common rodents include mice, rats, squirrels, chipmunks, gophers, porcupines, beavers, hamsters, gerbils, and guinea pigs. Rodents have sharp incisors that they use to gnaw wood, break into food, and bite predators. Most eat seeds or plants, though some have more varied diets. They have historically been pests, eating human seed stores and spreading disease.

Rodents evolved some time around the end of the Cretaceous period, ca. 65 million years ago.
